The Wildkats hosted 3A conference foe Anderson in North Central Conference tournament and won 2-1 against the visiting Indians.

The Wildkats controlled much of the possession in the match, but it was the precise passing and creativity of two first half goals which propelled the Kats to their fourth victory of the season.

Connor Scheiman and Quincy Armstrong notched the goals for the Kats, while Max Waltemath and Max Higgins combined to allow only one goal.

The Wildkats were led by junior captains Cortlandt Kalkstein and Connor Scheiman.

Season Review
The Kokomo High School soccer program did not enjoy a tremendous amount of competitive success on the field this year, but the players, coaches, and managers showed grit and resolve during a challenging campaign.

We had several players on our team who exhibited good sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship. These players have been key contributors as the team continues to develop its culture of excellence.

Junior captains Cortlandt Kalkstein, Blake White, and Connor Scheiman led our team this season. Kalkstein was a defensive mainstay, leading the team in minutes, while White and Scheiman were not far behind, each notching a few goals. Kalkstein was selected All- NCC, and White was selected All-NCC Honorable Mention. Senior Myles McIlrath was by far the most versatile player on the squad, playing in every spot on the field with the exception of goalkeeper.

Other players that regularly contributed to our team success this season were junior Eduardo Vazquez, seniors Alec Barreira, Kyle Burdette, David Curtis, and Max Waltemath, and sophomore Quincy Armstrong, who led the team in scoring.

We lose a supportive senior class, but return several players who received meaningful minutes this year at the varsity level, including the aforementioned juniors as well as junior Luc Cesar, Donovan Harrison, freshman Bryan Stoltzfus, and sophomore Elias Fuentes.

2017 Season Highlights
After an early season victory against county rival Eastern, the Wildkats faced the toughest schedule in recent history. The Wildkats competed well against several conference and local teams before dropping a series of one-goal matches. The team did defeat Anderson in the conference tournament for the second consecutive year.
