Nov. 18 Arsenal Tech (T) 9:00 am “There are no losers in wrestling, only winners and learners.”

We took nine wrestlers to the tournament this weekend that had never wrestled a varsity match. For some this was their first time competing in a wrestling match. We knew it was going to be a learning day but we were pleasantly surprised by how hard our guys competed.

Nine of our thirteen wrestlers won matches. First time match winners were: Harvey Barr - 106 pounds, Wilmer Corrales - 113, Taylor Duncan - 126, Jabian Shaffer - 132, Mitchell Wyrick - 160, Brayden Harris – 182, and Jakobe Sparger - 220.

Leading the way for the Wildkat grapplers were: Shaffer going 3-2, Zane Hall going 3-2 at 145 pounds, Austin Johnson going 3-2 at 152, and Harris going 3-1 at 182 pounds.

We are very proud of how hard these young men are working and competing.
