Morgan Rakestraw competes in a meet against Tipton.

The Katfish swimmers are preparing for their 2025-2026 season. They are training hard and preparing for their season goals and the things they want to achieve individually and together.

Senior swimmer Morgan Rakestraw has her sights set on the North Central Conference meet.

“My goal is to win two of my individual events at conference becoming a two-time conference champion in the 200 IM AND 100 fly,” she said.

Junior Jesse Cummings is working hard to drop time in his events. He has set his personal goals for the season around achieving those times.

“My goals are to get one minute and 10 seconds on my back stroke and 28 seconds on my freestyle,” he said.

Outside of the pool, the teams make memories together, one of Rakstraw’s favorite parts of the swim season.

“I am most excited for our team dinners,” she said. “They help bring the team together and it is super fun to be around everyone outside of practice.”

The Katfish take on Logansport and Rochester Saturday before taking a break during the holidays. Both teams compete in the NCC meet in January.
