The Kokomo boys’ basketball team has fought their way to a 12-5 record to start the 2025-2026 season, winning five straight games.They are also 3-0 in the North Central Conference and are currently in first.
Senior Korbyn Hammel recently hit a major milestone, recording his 1,000th career point.
“I am really excited for my senior year and playing with the team so far,” Hammel said.
He has been preparing by working out a lot, practicing and getting ready for the games. Hammel motivates himself and his teammates by being a leader and keeping everyone’s spirits up.
For sophomore DJ Nash, supporting his teammates is a priority.
“I’m excited to win games and do the right thing for my teammates,” he said.
This season, the Wildkats are working towards the sectional, hoping to win the title and continue playing deep into the post-season. The Kats host Culver Academies Thursday, Feb. 5 at Memorial Gym.
