The beginning of the new year means seniors are one semester away from graduation. Here are some tips to keep you on track and motivated to finish strong. Students with questions regarding any of the following should check in with their counselors.
Mid-Year Transcripts - Midyear transcripts have been sent to all colleges through SCOIR.
Cap and Gown Orders - If you have not ordered your cap and gown yet, please do so ASAP to ensure there is time for your custom gown to arrive prior to graduation. You can order online at https://highschool.herffjones.com/secom/school/IN/Kokomo+High+School/13003490000/0604/home
FAFSA - The FAFSA is now open. Students planning to attend college next year, even just thinking about it, must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for financial aid. Find it here.
College Application Status Updates - Please make sure you log into Scoir and make updates to your "my colleges" list as you receive admissions decisions from colleges. Remember, you must add each college you apply to to the "applied" column so the counselors can send your transcript and related materials.
Community Foundation Scholarships - Community Foundation Scholarships are now open. See all the info here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GSGNYZzFAovSqgXxIk8wITAg02PYnI61w3HRIFejWHg/edit?usp=sharing.
Kokomo Schools Education Foundation scholarships are open now. Applications close Feb. 27. They are a great opportunity for students to earn some scholarship money as they are only for KHS students.
Send any and all scholarships you have won to Coordinator of College and Career Preparation Brittany Troyer via email so that they can be included in the Senior Recognition Night program. Seniors will receive a special form in April to collect this information, but they are encouraged to send it in now.
Seniors who have applied to college should watch their email and mail for information regarding admissions status, financial aid offers and next steps.
