As the girls’ basketball season came to an end, the team had a full season of growth, hard work and unforgettable moments. From early workouts, tough practices and long game days this team showed determination and heart every time they stepped on the court. These players built strong chemistry, pushed through games and continued improving week after week.

One of the biggest highlights of the season came from the memories players created together.

“Beating Marion was one of my favorite memories and really brought our team together showing how good we can play,” said senior captain Eliana Stewart.

Throughout the season the team made noticeable progress. Whether it was better communication, stronger defense or more confidence on offense, the improvement was clear to both players and coaches.

“Over the season our team chemistry has improved,” senior Jada Williams said. “At the beginning starting with almost a new team was a hard adjustment but over time we grew to be a better team.”

This journey wasn’t always easy. The team faced several obstacles but continued to push forward and support one another.

“Even during tough times we as a team stuck together. We came together everyday in practice and out of practice picking each other up and finding those weaknesses and improving them to the best of our ability,” said senior captain Amara Stroman.

Head coach Haley Peckinpaugh also reflected on the season and the teams overall performance.

“This season was a roller coaster for us but we continued to push through the tough times. I feel like over time our shooting improved a lot and our team chemistry grew to be a lot stronger,” she said.

As the season wrapped up the girls’ basketball team was left with more than just wins and losses. They leave with stronger bonds, valuable lessons and motivation for the future. The foundation that was built this season sets the stage for this team to have even more success ahead of them.
