In late February, the International Baccalaureate sophomores, presented their personal projects. The students spent time working on these projects for several months before sharing their work for teachers, school faculty and community members.

The project is designed to reinforce IB learner profile traits.

"There are some tenets that the project reinforces, like being a lifelong learner, being curious, being a critical thinker," said vice principal Shara Dishon. "They take a topic that they're interested in. They research it. They extend their learning in it and further develop the skills to become more passionate about it."

Sophomore Cooper Cardwell's personal project was an in-depth look at how hosting international students has impacted his life.

"They've had an impact on my life by just making me more comfortable to welcome someone in my house every year and just be more comfortable with others," he said. "Even after their departure from your home you still keep contact with them."

The IB personal project showcase gives the sophomores the opportunity to share their hard work and everything they've learned throughout the year.
