KHS Graduation Pathways: Your STORY to Success
Unlock the door to the nation's most premiere universities without ever leaving the KHS campus. On April 29th, Kokomo High School is inviting you to start a new chapter in your academic journey by joining us for the 2026 STORY Info Session & College Fair from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Hosted by KHS, this event is FREE and OPEN to ALL area high school students.
The STORY program (Small Town Outreach, Recruitment & Yield) brings the academic heavyweights of the Ivy League and beyond directly to our community, ensuring all our area students have the "inside track" to the world's leading research universities and liberal arts colleges.
Breaking the Barrier: Why You Belong Here
Think these universities or programs are out of reach? Think again. The STORY Fair is specifically designed to debunk two of the biggest myths in college admissions:
The Academic Myth: Many of these institutions practice "holistic review," meaning they aren't just looking for perfect test scores. They are looking for leaders, creators, and students with unique life experiences—like the ones you’ve gained right here in Kokomo.
The Financial Myth:
Many families assume some of these institutions are financially out of reach, but the reality is often the opposite. Most of the universities attending this fair are committed to meeting a family's demonstrated financial need. Because of their significant endowments, these institutions often provide generous grant packages. For many qualifying families, the actual out-of-pocket cost to attend a premier private university can be comparable to—or even less than—that of a public state school.

The evening is designed to provide families with a comprehensive roadmap for the admissions process:
The Info Session (40 Minutes): Learn about holistic admissions and how to highlight your personal journey. Gain helpful insight on how to navigate the financial aid systems that can help make your dreams into your reality.
The College Fair (80 Minutes): Meet with admissions representatives to ask real questions and discover the best fit for you.
