Seniors Kari Sauliete and Ava Federspill hype each other up before a match.

Over fall break, the girls’ volleyball team competed in sectionals. The team lost to eventual sectional champ Harrison, 3-0.

Even though the season did not go as the team had hoped, it was still filled with memorable moments.

“Playing my last first home game against Western will always be a core memory,” said senior Bella Richards. “All of us playing together as a team and just having a good time will always make it all worth it.”

Teammate Darrian Story also noted the Western game as the most memorable moment of the season.

“It was the first game of the season and it’s our rival,” she said. “The stands were full of people cheering us on.”

Head coach Ashlen Kropczynski’s goal for this season was to build relationships and get more people excited about volleyball and the future of the program. Senior Kari Sauliete joined the team for the first time this year. The relationships she built will be things she always remembers.

“I always tell my teammates to keep their heads up, hype them up and stay positive even through mistakes,” she said.

The season may not have been the one the team had hoped for, but they still made good memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
