Girls' League president Elaina Gibson welcomes prom attendees to the 2025 prom. This year's prom in Saturday, Nov. 7 from 8pm-midnight.

In just one short week, KHS students will step out in their finest dresses and tuxes for a night to remember.

This year, the prom theme is Midnight Elegance. With an elegant theme and a night full of dancing, pictures and memories, prom is something many students look forward to all year.

"We wanted a theme that was beautiful, captivating, and mysterious. In the past few years blue and gold have been big colors, so this year we wanted to focus on red and silver. We also wanted to incorporate a feeling of romance with flowers and chandeliers," said Girls' League president Elaina Gibson.

Planning prom takes a lot of time and effort from the people working behind the scenes to make everything come together. From choosing the theme to organizing the details, there is a lot that goes into making the night special for everyone attending.

"Prom planning is a year-round process. Reservations for items like the DJ, the photobooth, and Bel Air are made a year in advance. In May we go over any new information regarding the upcoming prom that officers need to know," Gibson said. "By the end of August we are voting on prom themes, finding decorations, making food requests and planning reservation sales. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into prom planning, and it's a process that never truly stops!"

As prom gets closer, students are excited to celebrate with their peers, take pictures in the photobooth, and make memories before the school year ends. With the theme Midnight Elegance, this year’s prom is sure to be a night to remember.

"I hope students have a wonderful evening filled with dancing, food, and photos," Gibson said. "They will get to leave with some lovely souvenirs and printed photos. I hope that it is truly a night to remember!"
